Historical Narrative: 

This home is unique among the brick and wooden clad homes of Shawsheen Village as it is the only one faced in a stone veneer. The home is listed as vacant in 1926, 1928 & 1930 directories. In 1932 Horace & Mildred A. Thomas are renting the home. Horace is in shoe fabrics in Boston and moved to 18 Morton St. in 1934 after Andrew J. & Florence S. Crotty purchased the home on Feb. 6, 1934. Andrew Crotty's occupation is listed as restaurant. 1941 reveals a Lawrence location of the business.

Max & Rose Levin purchase the property on Dec. 20, 1945. Levin is the owner of the Crystal Shoe Manufacturing Co. Levin held the property for about ten years the went to William Lancaster. His estate sold to Charles & Lillian McCarthy on Nov. 2, 1956.

Joseph J. & Mildred G. Zelinski purchased four year later on Sept. 28, 1960.

The current owners Maurice V. & Dorothy D. Hawley purchased the home on July 25, 1966 and have been the longest occupants of the home, nearly 50 years of stewardship.
