Colonial Revival - Cape Style
Historical Narrative:
This property was once part of the Coulie - Shepherd homestead next door at 102 Burnham Rd. The lots were parceled off in 1928 by Erving Shepard Shaw who had inherited the Coulie - Shepherd house in 1918. Shaw sold the home in 1929 to Edward C. & Harriet C. Williams on May 25, 1929. Mrs.May E. Shaw purchased the two remaining lots on April 8, 1932. She then sold to Leslie & Helen F. Christison on Oct. 20, 1932.
Leslie & Helen F. Christison had the Cape style house built in 1933 -34. They are listed as residents at 100 Burnham Rd. in the 1935 directory. Leslie is a Chemist with the American Woolen Co. The house was sold to Bertha McLean on Aug. 30, 1957. Bertha McLean was from Methuen, b. 1885and age 72 when she purchased the home. She held the property four years then sold to Thomas B. & Catherine "Kay" J. Noyes on Oct. 13, 1961. Noyes had been living at 385 North Main St. prior to the move here.Tom was a letter carrier for the Post Office and Kay was a local Realtor. Kay wrote several articles for the Andover Townsman on historic homes in town.
After the death of Thomas Kay then sold the property to J. Bryan & Andrea Boatner on Apr. 23, 2007.
