This home and property was once owned by Timothy Palmer Bailey who purchased his father's farm, Timothy Bailey 2nd at auction on May 25, 1878. The first parcel mentioned in the deed was 132 aces and included the land on which this home was built. The second parcel was 22 acres on the west side of the Haggett's Pond brook and the same land conveyed by Joseph Chandler to Jonathan Abbot Jr. on July 21, 1827. Abbot would later sell the parcel of Timothy Bailey 2nd on Nov.30, 1842.

Timothy Bailey 2nd was born on Oct. 18, 1786 son of Lt. Moses and Elizabeth Bailey. He married on June 7, 1827 at West Parish Church to Sarah "Sally" Poor b. Apr. 9, 1794, dau. of Theodore & Sally (Dowling) Poor. They had two sons, Timothy Palmer b. May 25, 1828 and Moses Albert b. Mar. 5, 1835. Timothy, a farmer, continued to expand his farm and at the time of his death it totaled over 302 acres. Timothy died at age 88y 2m 21d on Jan. 8, 1875. His estate was later sold at public auction and son Timothy P. purchased it for $11,250. His mother Sally died on April 21, 182 at age 88 years 12 days. Both are interred at West Parish Garden Cemetery.

Timothy P. married Mary Jane Morse b. 1825. Timothy would provide a life estate in the home for his wife Mary Jane on his death on Dec. 9, 1902 age 74y 6m. 14d. Mary Jane lived another 13 years and passed on April 24, 1915 at age 89 years. The home property then went to their daughter Anna Morse Bailey Wilcox. Anna had married Hudson E. Wilcox. The homestead property now totaled 75 acres.
