Historical Narrative:
This property was once owned by Mary Eliza Gleason, wife of Frank Gleason, and niece of John Cornell. The lot was sub-divided and the homes at 22-24 and 26-28 High Street were built sometime after World War I.
John J. McCarthy of Lawrence, MA purchased the property on Oct. 9, 1919. Daniel & Mary C. Hart then buy on Sept. 15, 1920. John J. & Margaret E. McCarthy then purchase the home back on June 4, 1924. The McCarthy family would then retain the home for the next 45 years.
