Historical Narrative:

This home appears to be two homes into one. The small ell on the right may be the first home built on the property, a Cape style structure and as the property developed a Greek Revival addition on the left was added. Many of the homes on Cuba Street were built by families who were employed in the mills in Abbott Village; Smith & Dove Manufacturing, Tyer Rubber Company and Marland Mills M.T. Stevens and Sons.

The house and property was once owned by George Saunders, (see #20 Cuba Street) and sold to Annie S. Lindsay on Feb. 18, 1915.
Joseph Corey then purchased the property four years later on Nov. 6, 1919. The Corey family owned the house for 26 years then sold to Howard S. & Anna D. Eldridge in May 1945. Eldridge owned for eleven years then selling to Ruth S. & Evald B. Lavson on May 16, 1956.

Twenty years later George D. & Cynthia J. Milne purchased the property on Sept. 28, 1976. other owners include
John C. & Linda A. O'Connell III - June 24, 1988
Linda A. O'Connell - May 15, 1991
Chung Chin Thomas Yeh & Grace Hu Ying Yeh - Aug. 31, 1993
Grace Hu Ying Yeh - Dec. 18, 2001
David J. Allen - Sept. 14, 2005

In April 2015 a request to demolish the building was submitted to the Andover Preservation Commission. After a site visit it was determined that, although historically significant, the home had deteriorated to a point that restoration was not economically feasible, a a permit was issued by the Building Department to raze the structure. The house was demolished on Aug.10, 2015 in preparation of the site for a new home.
