This Cape Style home was built in the 1971-1972 on a parcel of land that was sub-divided off from a larger parcel connected to the Hart Block at 6-10 Cuba St. and 12 Cuba St.

The property was formerly owned by Mark Newman, then Andrew & Mary Collings who then sold to Partick Burke in Nov. 1872. The house, a small Cape, was located on the old cellar hole at 10 Shawsheen Rd. The Burke family owned the property until Sarah Burke, Patrick's daughter sold in 1944 to Cornelius & Catherine Hart. The "Paddy Burke" house, as it was know locally, was sold to the Shattuck family of West Andover at 125 River Rd. The house was moved to the farm in 1941 and converted to a Country Store. In 1982 the house was moved again to 243 High Plain Rd and converted into a residence again.

In May1962 Catherine Hart sold the one acre property to John F. & Lorraine M. Lynch. Lynch sold this lot to John L. Chapman, of North Andover, trustee of the Chapman Realty Co. in Aug. 1969.

It appears that Chapman divided the lot creating two house lots in the late 1971. Lot plan #6480, drawn in Sept. 1971 by Joseph W. Moore, Inc. for Chapman creates Lot #1 at 4 Cuba and Lot #2 at 2 Cuba St.

Richard T. & Joanne M. Sayers purchased the property with the new house on Oct. 25, 1972 and owned for 40 years. Richard Sayers' occupation in 1981 is listed as Instructional Specialist. Sayers sold to Svetlana Popova in March 2012.
