Historical Narrative:
Samuel Abbot of Charlestown & William Abbot of Andover owned the land now occupied by Oak Street (Formerly called West St) The Abbott's divided off 24 house lots along Oak St. and north side of Tewksbury St. The had Asa A. Abbott draw a plan of land in Ballardvale Village in May 1848. The lots were sold at auction by Thomas C. Foster on April 5, 1848. William Potterton purchased lot #2 on Tewksbury St. and then sold it to Henry F. Bingham for $86.16. on May 11, 1848.
Bingham then built the house on the lot shortly thereafter as he is assessed $250. in the Andover Valuation Schedule in 1850. (West Parish District)
Bingham then acquired lot 3 in 1862 and lot 1 in 1866, both recorded on July 24, 1874 in the Essex Northern Registry Deeds in Lawrence.
Henry F. Bingham wife Ann Bingham, was the heir of the estate along with Anna E Price, wife of Edwin Price of Lowell. Anna quit claimed her share to Ann on Apr. 30, 1878. Ann Bingham would later sell the property to Louis H. Schneider, wife Alice M. on Nov. 23, 1885.
