The house was built in 1890-91 on the corner lot of property that was once part of the Kimball home on School Street. The lot was deeded to Lucy J. Kimball who then turned the property over to John F. Kimball in June 1891. The deed mentions land but no building but Kimball then takes a mortgage on the property for $3000. which includes "with buildings". John was a banker, working as treasurer of the Andover Savings Bank in 1900. John & Elizabeth Kimball had two daughter Lucy J. and Mary F.

John Kimball estate was inherited by his daughters in 1935 and Lucy Kimball quit claimed her share to Mary on July 31, 1935. Mary Florence Kimball estate was probated via Anna Kuhn and C. Carlton Kimball on June 10, 1953.

The property was sold to Philip A. and Patrica Chenevert on Jun. 29, 1953. Phillip was a dentist and open a practice in Andover. Phillip died on April 28, 1965. Patricia remained in the home until 1971 selling to Alan L. & Rosemary Hughes on Aug. 2. The Hughes family continues as owners of the property in 2014
