The property was once part of the Valpey estate and purchased by John H. Flint who lived at 8 Elm Street. John H. Flint sold the house lot on the corner of Maple Ave. to Lemuel H. Eames on Aug. 30, 1879.
Andover Advertiser, October 17, 1879 - Messrs. Abbott & Jenkins have contracted to build a dwelling house for L. H. Eames on the corner of Elm street and Maple avenue.
A.A. - October 24, 1897 p 2. col 7 - Regan & Howard are putting in the foundation for the houses of W.S. Lawson, L. H. Eames and William Wood. Jones of South Lawrence furnishing the under-pining.
A.A. Dec. 12, 1879 - The foundation has been put in for the house of L.H. Eames on the corner of Elmstreet and Maple ave., and a strong force of Abbott & Jenkins men are progressing rapidly with the frame.
Lemuel H. Eames is listed in the Andover 1893-4 directory as a meat and provisions merchant. Eames family owned the property for 43 years selling after the death of Lemuel in 1922 by Charles H. Eames of Billerica to J. Henry Richardson, wife Eliza N. on Apr. 29, 1922.
