Historical Narrative:
This home was built for Donald C. & Doris A. MacKenzie of Lowell, MA. Doris MacKenzie purchased the lot from Edith R. Fraser and Lavinia A. Campion on July 5, 1938. The parcel contained 1.9 acres.
Donald C. MacKenzie was born Sept. 24, 1912 in Lowell, MA son of Donald W. & Florence J. MacKenzie. Donald worked as a clerk in his father's Wholesale Groceries business W. C. MacKenzie Co. in Lowell. Donald married Doris A. Carpenter b. July 17, 1913 in Milton, MA dau. of Ralph S. and Constance V. Carpenter. Donald and Doris had two sons: Donald C. Jr. b. 1937 and John Carlton b. Sept. 18, 1938. Donald became treasurer of the company about 1945. The MacKenzies sold to Eric A. & Virginia H. Jones on April 17, 1950.
