Historical Narrative:
This property was once owned by Hannah W. Foster, wife of Joseph W. Foster. The land was divided up into house lots after the construction of Park Street in 1872 and 1873.
Hannah Foster sold the lot to Helen Cornelia Rea on May 10, 1882. The house was built shortly after. Helen C. Rea and her family heirs owned the property for 30 years. William T. and Florence A. Rea became the owners after Helen. One quarter of the property was devised to Grace Ayer by Helen Rea's estate in 1912. Grace Hannah Ayer's estate was administered by probate on Sept. 10, 1943. Ella I. Curtis was the administratrix of the Ayer estate.
Ella I. Curtis purchased the house from the estate and held until her death in 1952. Ella's estate was then inherited by Irene E. Curtis. probate May 16, 1952.
Irene Curtis owned for 40 years.
Samuel Rulon-Miller Jr. purchased the property on Feb. 27, 1992 and owned for 11 years. P.A.M. Realty Trust, Patricia A. Stapinsky, trustee purchased the house in Feb. 2003. The property was then sold to North Mark Bank on Sept.1, 2004. The Rea House was razed shortly after for construction of the new bank and office building.
