Historical Narrative:
This home was built for John Vooris & Alice E. (Perriington) Holt. John V. was born April 1871 in Andover, son of Ballard & Delia (Jeffers) Holt. His father was a Librarian. John became a clerk for a stock broker and a banker. John married on June 27, 1901 in Bethel, ME to Alice b. 1875 in Bethel dau. of Joseph U. & Francetta A. (Woodbury) Perrington.
John purchased a home at 51 Maple Ave. in 1898 but it appears that it was investment property as he and his wife first lived on Elm St. before moving to Bartlet St. John & ALice had one son Reginald W. Holt b. 1905.
Both John and ALice died in 1936 and were interred at South Parish Cemetery, Andover, MA.
