This property was once part of the Valpey estate and purchased by John H. Flint who lived at 8 Elm Street. Flint sold this lot parcel to Andover builder Moody Russell for $800. on Dec. 12, 1872. Russell Built the handsome Eastlake or Stick Style home. The property was then sold to Attie B. Hodgett, of Lawrence, wife of William F. Hodgett. The 1884 map of Andover labeled this home occupied by Albert N. Holt. A large barn occupies the rear yard. 1890 tax list - house valued $2,800, barn $400, 5/8 land, $1,700. Hodgett owned the property for 27 years, and perhaps used it as income property only.
The house was sold to John Hinkey of Andover on Nov. 13, 1907. John later transferred the deed to his wife Hannah in 1923. With the death of Hannah Hinkely the children inherited the property. The deed lists the Hickey heirs: Mary E., Joseph J., John, Andrew F. Hickey, Vincent, Helen R. Young, Catherine McIntosh on March 6, 1936.
Daughter Helen R. Young and her husband William J. Young purchased the house on Sept. 25, 1937. The deed was then transferred to Helen R. on Oct. 31, 1939.
Helen R. Young died on May 4, 1945 and her estate went husband William J. Young. William remarried and the property was deeded to William J. & Flora H. Young on Oct. 14, 1959. With the death of William J. Young, Flora H. Young inherits the property.
On Apr. 19, 1977 Flora H. Young place the property jointly with Edward L. Kershaw of Raleigh, NC. Flora died on Nov. 8, 1981. Edward Kershaw inherited and then sold to
