Historical significance:
This property was once owned by Robert Stott, wife Jane. Robert Stott sold the vacant lot to Jabez S. Wood, wife Elizabeth, of Lawrence on October 25, 1866. Wood paid $70 for the house lot, and later purchased a second lot from Richard Boynton on May 30, 1867 for $25. Wood owned the property for 17 years and built the cottage on the lot. In March 1883 Wood sells the properties to Patrick J. Scott, wife Ellen M., for $400. Patrick & Ellen Scott owned for two years then selling to Margaret Robertson, a widow from Woburn, MA for $600 on Aug. 7, 1885. Margaret owned for ten years.
Robertson sold to Martin Komischki of Andover on October 10, 1895, who held for two years then sold on July 31, 1897 for $425. to Thomas E. & Mary E. Stott, and Jane Stott, widow of Robert Stott, surviving heirs of Robert Stott. Stott family owned for three years and sold to George E. Daniels of Lawrence, MA on May 12, 1900. A deed correction was made at that time. George Daniels paid $525. taking a mortgage from Lavinia L. Chesley, of North Nottingham, NH, wife of Jeremiah. George defaulted on the loan in 1905 and Lavinia Chesley took possession of the home.
William Trautmann of Ballardvale purchased the home on Aug. 28, 1908 and held the property until his death on June 19, 1936. His children inherited the property. William H. Trautmann, wife Ethel, Walter Trautmann, wife Florence and daughter Elizabeth M. Davis, wife of William A. and mother of Ruth Davis Sharpe. The Trautmann family held the property for ten more years before selling to Richard H. & Margaret M. Sherry on June 14, 1946.
Earl & Clotilde E. Hunt purchased the home on May 5, 1953 and the family owned for 58 years selling to Benjamin A. Cloutier in 2011.
