The current Wild Rose Drive entrance off Lowell St was the original driveway entrance to the Wild Rose Farm of the American Woolen Company (AWCo.) The farm was built by William M. Wood the president of the AWCo. as one three sister farms on Argilla Road and Lowell Streets. Wood acquired several other farms in West Andover to provide dairy products for his new model community Shawsheen Village. The other new farms; "Clover Farm", located at 309 Lowell St., now the site of Hamilton Green Apartments and the Boston Tennis Club and the Shawsheen Stock Farm at 62 Argilla Rd both had similar houses, barns and silos.

The three farms operated under the American Woolen Co. logo until the death of Mr. Wood in 1926. The properties were in the Arden Trust set up for Woods children, then placed in the Phillips Corporation, to liquidate the holdings to private parties. Wild Rose Farm operated until 1930's when it was purchased by Sidney P. White who retained the name of the farm and stocked the herd with Holstein cows and prize bulls. White maintained the dairy business and milk delivery at this location until 1960. White built Rose Glen Dairy Bar and a new barn for his Wild Rose Farm called the Cow Palace on Andover Street across from his home at 5 Argilla Rd. The barn has been converted into professional office space and the former Dairy Bar is now the Andover Deli.

The Wild Rose Farm was purchased by Harry Alexrod and the Wild Rose Drive development began about 1959. The farmhouse stood on the rise of the hill at what is now 3 Sweetbriar Lane. The Barn was located at 2 Sweetbriar and the Ice house across from the pond at about #5.
