Historical Narrative:
A parcel of land was sold by John Abbott to Benjamin Gleason and son Gamaliel Gleason on Apr. 27, 1849. The parcel was then sold to Isaac Carlton, a Hat Manufacturer in Andover, and apponinted trustee for Carl F. C. Hageman, a Ship Carpenter. Hageman acquired a second parel of land from Gleason on April 13, 1853. Hageman may have built the home himself. His wife was Anna Barber L. Hagemand. They owned the home for five years. When Hageman sold the property in 1858 he was living in New Orleans, LA.
Lucy F. Abbott, wife of Henry Abbott 2nd, purchased the 1 1/2 acre parcel and house on Oct. 27, 1858 for $1000. The deed state sole ownership to Lucy without interference from her husband. Lucy Abbott owned for 20 years.
Orlando M. Higgins and wife Harriet A. purchased the home on May 3, 1878 and held for eight years. William & Mary Lunan then purchased on Oct. 27, 1886 to $1700.
William Lunan died on Oct. 9, 1905 and his estate was inherited by heirs Wm. Cable Lunan of Southbridge, MA, Mary A. Lunan of Dorcester, John & Margaret Collins of Andover and Thomas M. Lunan of Newark, NJ. The Lunan heirs then sold the property to Isabel Napier on Nov. 14, 1905.
On Aug. 4, 1925 Isabel placed the deed in both her and husband James Napier names. Isabel died and James later re-married to Margaret Haigh and the deed was transferred into their names. James Napier died on Sept. 3, 1934. Margaret remained four years then sold to Robert V. Deyermond, wife Gladys N. on Apr. 7, 1938. Robert V. Deyermond and family members continue as owners of record in 2016 now 78 years.
